Mission Statement

The Colorado Fourteeners Initiative works to protect and preserve the natural integrity of Colorado's 14,000-foot mountains through active stewardship and public education.

Description

CFI works in the field to construct sustainable routes, revegetate damaged areas, maintain the peaks once projects have been completed, and forge contacts with hikers to educate them about Fourteener-specific Leave No Trace practices. In the front country, CFI conducts clinics and presentations, produces publications, and maintains a website to inform people about responsible recreation and how they can protect the Fourteeners.
