Mission Statement

The Samuel P. Harn Museum of Art seeks to advance and support the educational mission of the University of Florida through the musuem's unique functions of collecting, preserving, presenting, and interpreting original and exemplary works of visual art. Through its exhibitions and educational programs, the museum strives to enhance the teaching and research activities of the university, and to serve the academic community and a culturally diverse regional and national audience.

Description

The Harn Museum is a fine arts museum located on the University of Florida campus at SW 34th Street and Hull Road in Gainesville. The musuem houses an impressive collection of contemporary and traditional art in various mediums. The gift shop has an exciting array of jewelry and gift items, some made by local artists. The Bishop Study Center is a multi-media center that offers CD ROMs, access to the internet, videos and a great variety of research material that correlates with current in-house and traveling exhibitions.
