Mission Statement

Service For Peace is an independent nonprofit organization providing intensive service learning opportunities through ongoing community development programs throughout the world. We bring together people and partners of diverse faiths, ethnicities, nationalities, generations, and cultures to address urgent social needs in selected communities.

Description

Service For Peace implements the Global PeaceMakers program to recruit volunteers worldwide to work in short term social projects (2 weeks) as international or local volunteers in poverty communities in Latin America, Asia and Africa.

The volunteers implement social projects aligned to the Millenium Development Goals of the United Nations in aspects of education, health, environment and local empowerment.

Most of the Global PeaceMaker projects are focused in the improvement of education infraestructure in rural or urban primary schools, through the construction and equipment of classrooms and libraries.

During the Global PeaceMakers projects the international volunteers live a cross cultural experience and know more about the local and international development topics, through the implementation of workshops.
