Valley View Vaulters

Description

Using highly trained horses as a tool, Valley View uses a unique type of equestrian therapy called vaulting. Vaulting is an equestrian discipline that is a combination of gymnastics and horsemanship. Rick Hawthorne, founder and head coach at Valley View is the Chairman of the AVA/American Theraputic Vaulting Association. Unlike theraputic riding, a person on the ground is in charge of controlling the horse. It is a more controlled and more versatile type of therapy than the typical riding therapies and should be considered as an additional chance for the handicapped to benefit from equestrian sports.
