Mission Statement

The mission of The Arc Northwest Indiana is to improve the welfare of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families.

This mission includes the provision of support, training, and care through day services, residential programs, and social services that help people with all levels of intellectual and developmental disabilities develop skills and abilities that assist their movement toward community intigration, independence and happiness.

The mission further includes participation and leadership in local, state, and national organizations and the provision of educational programs which actively promote understanding and respect of the rights, problems and needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Description

The Arc Northwest Indiana is a non-profit agency that provides year-round comprehensive services to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Lake County. More than 700 men and women receive support through day services, residential programs and social services.

I have not volunteered for this Organization, I have worked as a Residential Supervisor in the mid to late 90's for LCAR. I considered it to be a fine care and training facility then and would recommend it's services. I have a cousin that was raised with the assistance of LCAR in his life and now he is retiring from his job with E.C. School System of 33 years.We are very supportive >
