Hoosier Hills Food Bank

Mission Statement

Incorporated in 1982, the Hoosier Hills Food Bank in Bloomington, Indiana, is a not-for-profit organization that collects, stores, and distributes surplus and donated food products to over 116 local agencies that run feeding programs for the needy. These federally tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations provide Hoosier Hills with a 14 cent per pound share contribution to help defray costs of maintaining a warehouse operation. Hoosier Hills Food Bank distributed 1,340,000 pounds of salvaged and donated food to agencies feeding hungry families in 1999. Hoosier Hills Food Bank serves Monroe, Martin, Owen, Orange, Brown, and Lawrence Counties in Central Indiana.
