Mission Statement

The Bailey HUNDO--a not-for-profit event--is a world-class 100-mile endurance mountain bike race that starts and ends in Bailey, Colorado that both serves to raise money and awareness for youth biking initiatives in Colorado, and supports the planning and building of new trails in the Platte Canyon area that both serve the local community's recreation needs and develop Bailey into a mountain biking destination.

Description

The Bailey HUNDO was created out of a partnership between four State Senators--State Senator Chris Romer (now a Denver Mayoral candidate), State Senator Greg Brophy (SD-1), State Senate Minority Leader Mike Kopp (SD-22), and State Senator Mark Scheffel (SD-4)--and the communities of Bailey, Park County, and Colorado cyclists. In the first year in 2010, the HUNDO attracted 150 racers, including some of the top mountain bike racers in the world: Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski, Dave Weins and Soyna Looney. For our second year, the USFS has generously increased our permit to allow for 250 select riders to enjoy the HUNDO this year.
