Description
Springdale Cemetery is a property listed on the Natonal Register of Historic Places. This public, non-sectarian cemetery was first opened in 1857 to meet the interment needs of families in Peoria and the surrounding area, and we continue to arrange burials on a regular basis. The 223-acre property includes rolling hills and valleys, a natural creek, overlooks, native flora, wildlife, and mature hardwood trees. A public mausoleum was first opened in 1929 and was expanded twice. Fifteen private family mausoleums can also be found across the grounds. Memorial art and architecture reflect all styles and time periods. The natural beauty makes the park-like setting a favorite of runners and walkers in all seasons.
