Mission: The mission of the Springdale Cemetery Management Authority shall be to engage in activities that provide dignity, honor, and respect for the deceased, to serve the burial needs of the living, to preserve and protect the Cemetery's real and financial assets, to heighten an awareness of and appreciation for the Cemetery, to educate the public regarding options for a deceased loved one, and to provide a legacy for future generations.

Vision: The vision of the Springdale Cemetery Manage-ment Authority shall be to operate an active, non-sectarian cemetery that celebrates the lives that have shaped our community and nation by welcoming the public to enjoy our landscape, art and architecture as we seek to honor the past and look toward the future.

Springdale Cemetery is a property listed on the Natonal Register of Historic Places. This public, non-sectarian cemetery was first opened in 1857 to meet the interment needs of families in Peoria and the surrounding area, and we continue to arrange burials on a regular basis. The 223-acre property includes rolling hills and valleys, a natural creek, overlooks, native flora, wildlife, and mature hardwood trees. A public mausoleum was first opened in 1929 and was expanded twice. Fifteen private family mausoleums can also be found across the grounds. Memorial art and architecture reflect all styles and time periods. The natural beauty makes the park-like setting a favorite of runners and walkers in all seasons.
