Mission Statement
To support ecological restoration in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, to build a sense of community stewardship for the park, and teach young people the themes of environmental sustainability and restoration through active participation in habitat restoration.
Description
Come grow with us in the Marin Headlands! At the Marin Headlands Native Plant Nursery, we grow over 30,000 plants each year to restore natural habitats within the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. With only three staff members, we depend on community members for help with growing plants, collecting seeds, maintaining the nursery facilities, and much more. If you would like to help, just drop by our weekly volunteer programs: Wednesdays 1:00-4:00p.m. and Saturdays 9:00a.m. to 12:00p.m. They're outside, fun, and always hands-on. Everyone is welcome, no experience is necessary, and snacks and all necessary equipment are provided.
