Mission Statement

Community Lifeline Center strengthens communities in North Collin County by guiding residents in crisis back to self-sufficiency and independence.

Description

Community Lifeline Center (CLC) serves Collin County communities by guiding residents in crisis back to self sufficiency and independence. We offer a variety of programs to provide assistance and support to bridge short term financial instability.

Community Lifeline Center offers a lifeline to assist families through a crisis due to sudden unemployment, unexpected medical expenses, or other unexpected financial emergencies. Community Lifeline Center provides essential services in order to prevent more profound, long-term impacts. Emergency assistance is not replacement or supplement for ongoing income needs, but short-term temporary support to assist on an emergency basis to help clients to self-sufficiency and independence.

An emergency is defined as a situation which possesses the following characteristics: it arose unexpectedly; it created an immediate need for financial assistance; and it was not caused by the unreasonable conduct of the applicant. Examples of crises include: loss of job resulting in lack of funds for food, medicine, rent, utilities; fire or other destruction of property; immediate medical/prescription needs for individuals not covered by Medicaid, etc. All clients must show proof of residency.

Community Lifeline Center also offers Job and Life Skill education - money management, computer skills, and tools for job seekers.
