Description

School Bus Safety Council, Inc. (SBSC) was founded in December, 2005 for the purpose of providing in-classroom school bus safety training to the children of Maricopa and Pinal Counties. We attained our 501(c)3 status from the Internal Revenue Service in 2006 and remain in good standing. Today, SBSC has grown to include activities in safety and nutrition curriculum development and training including both children and adults who work with children, specifically Title I schools in the state of Arizona.

Our programs are low-cost in nature because we are a volunteer-based organization. Our expenses are typically for printing, binding, distribution, supplies and training. Our purpose is to identify underprivileged, underserved and underfunded (Title 1) schools who would benefit from our programs and then work with the administration (school, school district, Fire or Police Department, Transportation Department) to analyze their specific needs, design curriculum to fit their students, develop a valuable program, implement the program and then evaluation the results with little or no cost to the school, children, or adults trained. Here are our three main focus areas along with a description for each.
