Mission Statement

Captain Frederick Pabst Mansion, Inc., a registered non-profit organization located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, operates a vital house museum that preserves the legacy of the Pabst family and their impact on the citizens, history, and culture of the Greater Milwaukee community.

Description

Today the Pabst Mansion represents the epitome of America’s gilded age splendor in Milwaukee. The Pabst residence was completed in July of 1892 for world famous brewer, Great Lakes steamship captain and model citizen Captain Frederick Pabst.

Since 1978, dedicated volunteers and community leaders have been working to restore the Pabst Mansion to its original grandeur. The Mansion stands as one of Milwaukee’s great architectural landmarks. Each year thousands of individuals and group tours visit the Mansion to learn about a by-gone era of Milwaukee’s history. Today, our volunteers provide operational support as docents or in visitor services.

The Mansion is looking for volunteers who are interested in history, architecture, or art, and enjoy interacting with a wide variety of people from around the world. Our volunteers are enthusiastic, inspired, proactive, and have a desire to share the history of the Mansion and Pabst Family.
