Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Our Mission is to foster a love for learning and support children’s desired need to be life-long learners. Our focus is to provide a stimulating early care and educational experience which promotes each child’s social/emotional, physical and cognitive development. We provide "REAL LEARNING, NOT JUST PLAY." Our purpose is that we are a Professional Learning Community (PLC) ministry of Maranatha Evangelistic Temple. MCA’s primary aim is to welcome our children into a safe and nurturing environment. One which will instill in them the core values needed for further education and social opportunities. Our goal is to promote educational programs that foster growth in all areas of the developmental process.
We are a Christian-based preschool and childcare center. Christianity is part of everything that is experience at the center. The children will be exposed to mixture of Bible stories and Bible songs. Christian curriculum is our teaching standard for the children. They will also prayer before each meal and be taught basic Christian doctrine. A Statement of Faith is included in the enrollment packets each year. In addition to our Christian faith, we look to developmental psychology and educational theory to provide the foundation for our program. The early childhood education component of our program seeks to exercise and challenge the child’s emerging capabilities during each stage of development. Children are encouraged and assisted in developing their own unique pattern of interests, talents, and thoughts. The Youth Summer Program is a lighter extension of the school offered to youth between the ages of 2 and 12. The program includes more activities, such as arts and crafts, swimming, field trips, sports activities, creative writing, reading, movies, singing, and much more. Maranatha also has a separate Vacation Bible School which generally operates one week in August. This is separate from the Camp or School, although it operates in the same building. This program is in the evening, usually 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm and has a biblical theme, for instance, "A week in Rome". MCA operates on the philosophy that each child is an individual created by God. Each child has his/her own personality. Each child has his/her own style of learning. From our Christian perspective our goal is to help each child grow in every aspect of his/her life: Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, and Social. This growth is enhanced by allowing the child to explore his/her world through academic curriculum, hands-on activities, various types of learning centers, and a balance of large and small muscle play.
