Mission Statement

The organization is organized for the purpose of providing effective means for the prevention of cruelty, and the care of abused and abandoned animals.

Description

The Ozark-Dale County Humane Society consists of two parts: our "no-kill shelter" houses up to 20 dogs at one time and our cattery can hold 10 cats. We also have a feral cat population that varies - all cats are spayed/neutered, fed and vetted.

For the past 5 years, ODCHS has run a thrift shop (New Leash on Life) which is open 3 days a week. Donations keep the shop supplied with merchandise and the proceeds go to support the shelter. We are always short on volunteers, which is why we are only open 3 days a week. We are desperately in need of volunteers at the NLOL.
