Mission Statement

The Idyllwild Community Recreation Council (ICRC) is a subsidiary (DBA) of the San Jacinto Mountain Community Center. Our mission is to create, support, coordinate and enhance recreational and educational activities and programs for Hill (Idyllwild, California) residents of all ages by utilizing all community resources.

Our Vision~

Hill residents of all ages have access to a variety of recreational programs based on stable, community-wide participation and on-going funding. Participation would include, but not be limited to, access to facilities and programs. Residents benefit from and participate in life-long learning and recreational programs.

We are part of a big event that is taking place in Idyllwild in June 2011: creating a playground designed by children and built by the community. The San Jacinto Mountain Community Center, dba Idyllwild Community Recreation Council (ICRC), is a grassroots organization of citizens of Idyllwild joining hands to provide a state-of-the-art playground not only for the children of Idyllwild, but for children throughout the area and visitors alike.

What makes this project unique is that the local children have assisted in the design of the playground and the entire community will help with fundraising and supply the labor to build the playground from June 22 nd to June 26 th, 2011 (Wednesday-Sunday). We will need the help and support from hundreds of volunteers to make this project successful. This includes parents, grandparents, teenagers, businesses and other interested community members working side by side to complete the park in only five days.

We are expecting anywhere from 100 people for some shifts and 250 people on other shifts and will provide breakfast, lunch and dinner meals each of the days and childcare for every volunteers.
