For 100 years the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) has given hope and new life to persons fleeing from war, violence and persecution in their home country. A catalyst for refugee rights and advocacy, USCRI has changed the lives of thousands of newly arriving Americans and continues to do so through various program support.
USCRI Des Moines supports refugees beginning their new lives in the U.S. by providing immediate needs, core services and community orientations. Through collaborative support between USCRI and local businesses, organizations and individuals, each newly arriving American is given toosl and resources to successfully adapt to life in the Greater Des Moines area.
Community involvement is an essential piece of refugee resettlement. You can help refugees transition to a new life in the Greater Des Moines area by volunteering, donating money or goods, or by partnering with USCRI to serve refugees. Many thanks in advance for your generosity.
