Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.
To provide a community event for the people of San Diego to enjoy for free.
Liberty Station is holding the 3 rd annual Spring Fling event, a free afternoon festival with tons of fun for all ages, presented in part by Liberty Station and the Point Loma Community Park and Recreation Council. Spring Fling will be held Saturday, April 23, from noon to 5 p.m. in Ingram Plaza and the adjacent NTC Park at Liberty Station in Point Loma.
The one-day, free festival will include inflatable slides and bounce houses, balloon artists, face painters, lawn games, kids crafts and games, raffle with prizes, an "Amazing Scavenger Hunt," live entertainment and music and much more. Children of all ages can fill their baskets during the huge 20,000-egg hunt and there will also be a chance to take instant bunny photos, which will be provided for free courtesy of Liberty Station and PLCRC. The afternoon fun will be capped off with a concert by the classic rock band, Rockola, starting at 3pm. This event is created free for the community so the people of San Diego can celebrate spring together!
