Description

Lost Creek Ranch-Camp Confidence is an official 501(c) non-profit organization as of November 2009. . Many of our kids' lesson and camp horses were either rescued, given to us in hopes of providing them a more fulfilling life, or else given to us simply because they were no longer wanted. Some are seniors who require special diets and/or supplements and more frequent dental care. Others have certain medical, joint and/or hoof issues that also require specialized diets, supplements and frequent appointments with the farrier and some were mistreated and thrown away.

The founder, Lynette Weldon, specializes in creating strong, confident riders and respectful, willing horses. Lynette's riders often joke that she is "half horse" because of her instinctual ability to understand what is going on between horse and rider. Lost Creek Ranch was founded on her strong belief that the horses needs come first- that horses are not just tools. It is this horse-first attitude that attracts riders from beginner to accomplished equestrians looking to further their skills. Everyone finds a place at Lost Creek Ranch and every horse that becomes part of the herd is trained by Lynette for a job they will excel at whether is it competing in the show ring, giving trail rides or building riders confidence as lesson horses.

Our annual CAMP CONFIDENCE residential kids camps starts the second week in June, with ongoing sessions through out the summer. It’s always a favorite among the kids and parents! The children stay in our bunkhouse and have their own horse for the week they’re here. At the end of every camp session we put on a horse show for family and friends to show what we have accomplished together.
A special week at Camp Confidence called A Place to Belong is in memory of Kevin Weldon whose love for his family and Lost Creek Ranch will forever live on .

Open Everyday: We welcome visitors! If you would like to watch lessons or get a tour of the ranch call ahead and we will have someone ready to show you around and introduce you to the herd.
