For over a year, Hospice Volunteers have been sidelined by COVID. With folks getting vaccinated, some of our volunteers are again ready to visit hospice patients in their homes. Could you be one of them? We are currently preparing our volunteers to begin visiting with a thorough new training on infection control, COVID protocols, and the proper use of PPE. Next will be a complete training for new volunteers who are willing to step up to help our patients through their end of life journey. The requirements are few but vitally important. An open heart and a bit of time is all that's needed. Sounds simple but it is exactly what's needed for you can make a profound difference in someone's life. Hospice Volunteers provide companionship, respite care, and support to hospice patients and their families. Volunteers provide a wide range of services...reminiscing, walking dogs, playing cards, watching favorite movies, reading, supporting family members, giving caregivers a break, fixing a meal, or running errands. Currently we are looking for volunteers to visit patients in their own homes in and around Charlton. Full training and ongoing support is provided. For more information, please contact Susan Fuller at 508-434-2200 or email at sfuller@overlook-mass.org Please include your phone number in all responses.
