Connections and You, Inc provides a very comprehensive mentoring program called The Distinguished Ladies and Gentlemen's Club. We mentor children from diverse cultures and backgrounds, ages 11 to 17. Our main focus is to remain consistent and positive in these children lives, in order to effect change. We meet with the boys and girls every other Saturday at our Club House, located in Hanahan, SC. At these meetings we discuss various topics that relates to establishing and building positive character. We also offer an incentive program, where we reward the children for good behavior, grades and conducts by taking them on monthly outings as a group. This is something our children look forward to every month and because of this they are motivated to decrease in misbehaviors at home and school. We also provide an after school program for our children two days a week, where they come to the Club House and receive tutoring, do homework, study and/or get help with projects. Last but not least we mentor them by contacting each individual child weekly, to encourage, to motivate, and to provide guidance through this path we call life. The mentors also accompany us on our monthly club outings; this provides another opportunity for our mentors to spend time with their assigned club member. Our mentors are dedicated and committed Men and Women that just simply want to show a child how they to can live a productive life in society
