Mission Statement

Patron of Saint Francis Animal Rescue and Support was formed in 1998 to create a solution to animal abandonment and the excessive pet population of unaltered animals in our community. We rescue and rehabilitate domestic cats, dogs and feral cats. We currently maintain 52 feral colonies with approximately 250-300 feral cats under our care with our overall goal of testing, immunizing, spaying and neutering the entire feral cat population at our 52 feral colonies in order to prevent new births and to maintain the health of the feral cat. We are in dire need of spay and neuter sponsorships and feeding volunteers for feral cats in order to maintain our trap, neuter and return program and to achieve our overall goal of our feral cat maintenance program. A feral cat is the direct result of irresponsible pet owners who abandon their animals and/or fail to spay and neuter their animals. All of our rescued domestic cats and dogs are also tested, immunized, spayed and neutered prior to adoption. We are trying to raise funds and apply for grants to build our planned animal shelter with a low cost spay and neuter clinic and a natural habitat for wildlife. We currently operate out of a small network of home shelter volunteers. We are a 501 c 3 non profit and all donations to our animal rescue group are tax deductible and utilized for the sole support of our rescued animals.

The Patron of Saint Francis Animal Rescue and Support feral cat feeding volunteer is a nocturnal position in which volunteers replenish food and water supplies at various feral cat colonies in Pasco and North Pinellas Counties as well as participating in our trap, neuter and return program.
