Founded in 1995, the Historic Sites Consortium of Queen Anneâ s County seeks to educate and involve residents and visitors in the history of Queen Anneâ s County. The Consortium supports the preservation and stewardship of the regionâ s cultural heritage; develops and promotes heritage tourism throughout the County; and enhances the management and sustainability of its historic resources.
Description
The Historic Sites Consortium is made up of 16 sites and organizations throughout Queen Anne's County. The sites range from one of the earliest in the County, the 1652 Broad Creek Cemetery, to more recent sites, such as the Church Hill Theatre, built in 1929. The member sites are non-profit, volunteer-run organizations involved in preserving and interpreting their own individual sites.
