Description

Individual volunteers may join Presidio Park Stewards on any Wednesday or Saturday morning. Transportation is provided to restoration sites Wednesday mornings from the Natural Resources Field Office (Baker Beach Apartments Bldg. 1539) and Saturday mornings from the Crissy Field Center (corner of Old Mason and Halleck at Crissy Field). There are 15 restoration sites in the Presidio representing 13 different habitat types. The Presidio is home to 13 rare or endangered species. Habitat restoration in the Presidio focuses on invasive weed removal and native plant revegetation. Presidio Park Stewards work rain or shine on sites ranging from steep, rugged bluffs to flat, sandy beaches.
