Mission Statement

The Duplessy Foundation works to help young adults who are 18-24 years old and not in four-year colleges pursue long term career goals through dynamic fellowships and long-term mentoring.

We focus on helping people with interests in the Arts and Entrepreneurship. We commit to mentor participants in the program for up to 10 years.

Description

Our program has three main components:

Project

Purpose Fellows work on a special 8-12 week project as a volunteer with a partner organization addressing a specific business problem.

Plan

After the project, Purpose Fellows work with a foundation mentor and field-specific expert to craft a realistic and ambitious 10 year goal. We work backwards from the 10 year goal to create two-year milestones, which will be the focus of the mentoring relationship.

Long-Term Mentoring

Fellows participate in weekly mentoring sessions with a foundation mentor and monthly mentoring with a field-specific mentor for up to 10 years. The focus of the mentoring is helping fellows work towards their milestones and ultimately their 10 year goal.

Criteria and Referrals

Potential Purpose Fellows are Boston residents 18-24 years old with at least a GED and an interest in the arts or entrepreneurship.
