Advancing America Foundation

Description

The Advancing America Foundation was formed in response to the success of Feria Para Aprender over the previous four years in Austin and the opportunity for expansion into other markets as well as development into other areas, such as health and fitness. In May 2010, one full-time staff member was hired to oversee logistical operations as partnerships grew in other markets such as Los Angeles and Miami. In July 2010, the first Fitness Feria was held in Austin, attracting over 2,000 parents and children. In August 2010, the first Feria Para Aprender Coastal Bend was held in Robstown, reaching over 1,000 attendees. Preparations are in place for the second Los Angeles event as well as the first Feria Para Aprender Miami, both to be held in October 2010, and the fifth education fair in Austin during January 2011.
