Families enjoying a free, fun-filled day that will create lifelong memories while providing learning activities and resources to enhance the educational value of PBS KIDS programming on KMOS-TV.
MISSION
* Encouraging families to view and learn with PBS Kids programming.
* Provide a free venue to local non-profits to provide their community educational program and resources.
* Create partnerships with corporations and businesses to support the educational mission of KMOS.
Description
KIDS DAY is a collaboration with area businesses, agencies and organizations that provides children with a chance to meet in person their favorite PBS characters, while participating in an entertaining and enriching family experience.
Kids Day encourages parent and child interaction in activities that promote literacy, art, music, nutrition and fitness. The day includes the following:
* Meet & Greet with kids favorite PBS Characters
* Hands on Activities at each Educational Center
* Professional Storytellers
* Free Book for Each Child
* Nutritional Info at the KIDS DAY Market Place & a kids cookbook
* Take Home Activities and Parent Resources
* Develop literacy skills as kids stroll through the Fairy Tale Village
