The Arthritis Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania a is actively looking for compassionate and dedicated volunteers who can provide a secure and supportive space for those affected by arthritis. This opportunity allows individuals to connect with others who share their experiences and gain valuable insight about the condition. Your participation can make a significant difference in the lives of those living with arthritis. Arthritis Foundation Connect Groups are peer-led support groups, social, and educational groups that regularly meet in person or virtually to provide connections that are inclusive to adults living with all types of arthritis and rheumatic diseases or to parents/guardians of children with juvenile arthritis. Facilitators bring people together to provide: Social and informative events and activities focused on peer support groups and positive coping strategies. Understanding and encouragement for both people living with arthritis and their loved ones Strategies supporting members become self-advocates, develop self-management skills and learn how to not just survive life with arthritis but to thrive! Facilitators abide by the Live Yes! Connect Group Guidelines and Terms & Conditions, practice ethical confidentiality standards and represent Arthritis Foundation in a professional, respectful, and positive manner.

The Arthritis Foundation is boldly pursuing a cure for America's #1 cause of disability while championing the fight to conquer arthritis with life-changing science, resources, advocacy, and community connections. Through the Foundation's signature walk event, Walk to Cure Arthritis (WTCA), communities across the country unite to help find solutions, better treatments, and a cure for Arthritis, a disease that affects nearly 60 million adults and 300,000 children, once and for all. To make this event a success, we are looking to YOU to be one of our day-of event volunteers to assist us with things like... Event Set-Up: 6:00am - 8:00am Assist with event set-up, layout, decoration, tables/chairs and signage. Volunteer Registration: 6:00am - 10:00am Register/check-in volunteers, hand-out volunteer t-shirts, direct volunteers to their stations. Registration Area: 7:45am - 10:15am Register new participants or hand out prizes and t-shirts to qualified participants. It will be loud and busy, so good listening and multi-tasking skills are essential for this job. Refreshment Area: 7:45am - 10:15am Hand out snacks and refreshments to participants, replenish as needed and keep area clean Cheer Zone: 9:15am - 11:00am Work with event officials to cheer on walkers! Kids Area: 7:45am - 9:45am Work in the kids area to help kids with crafts, games, face painting and activities. Event Break-Down: 9:45am - 12:00pm Assist with event break-down (taking down decorations, tables/chairs and signage) Photographers & Entertainment: 8:00am - 12:00pm Singers, bands, balloon artists, characters, face painting, massage therapists etc. Planning committee member positions are also available. The Arthritis Foundation Philadelphia Region is looking for energetic and passionate individuals to join our 2025 Jingle Bell Run Event Committee. Jingle Bell Run is the original festive race to support charity! Our participants dress up in fun, holiday attire, tie bells to their shoes and run to support those living with arthritis. Volunteer committee members partner with the Jingle Bell Run Chairs and Arthritis Foundation staff to ensure that the event meets its community engagement and financial goals. Committee member's responsibilities may include: Attending regular committee meetings both virtually and in-person Recruiting and outreach to new and past participants Soliciting sponsorships and donations: financial and in-kind Assisting with social media and communications Sharing the mission of the Arthritis Foundation The ideal people would be willing to commit several hours each month between now and the event which will be held in December 2025.

Leadership Board Overview The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control, and cure of arthritis related diseases. The mission is delivered through public health programs and services, advocacy efforts and investing in arthritis research. Members of the Leadership Board are pivotal in helping local adults and children with arthritis. Members of the Leadership Board are responsible for working collaboratively with staff to provide guidance and leadership on strategic direction of fundraising strategies and mission delivery. Local Leadership Board members support the Foundation’s mission and fundraising activities by opening doors to influence individuals, organizations, and community partners to support the organization and build awareness among the arthritis community. Serve as an advocate of the Arthritis Foundation’s mission, policies and programs. Represent the Arthritis Foundation at official functions in the community and through social media. Actively participate on the planning committee and attend at least one special event annually. All Local Leadership Board members will consider the Arthritis Foundation a philanthropic priority by making and helping to solicit gifts that reflect that priority. So that we can credibly solicit contributions from major gift donors, corporate partners, and foundations, the Arthritis Foundation expects to have 100% of Local Leadership Board members make a personal annual contribution commensurate with individual capacity. Annual give/get of $5,000. Ensure the Arthritis Foundation fulfills its commitment to diverse volunteer leadership that reflects the communities served. Help recruit nominees to the board who can significantly impact the Arthritis Foundation’s mission delivery and fundraising efforts. Actively participate in a minimum of 4 out of 5 scheduled board meetings annually. Qualifications Relevant professional experience and accomplishments in career and/or extensive personal experience and accomplishments within arthritis community Experience working in a volunteer leadership capacity and volunteering in the community Commitment to and understanding of the mission and vision of the Arthritis Foundation Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and passion for improving the lives of people with arthritis Natural affinity for cultivating relationships, working with diverse individuals, and influencing others At least 2 years in a professional employment setting Recommended Term: Three-year term, renewable for one additional term Location: While most meetings happen virtually, Board members should live in the Greater Philadelphia, South Jersey or Delaware area in order to attend in-person meetings and events.
