Description

Sun Valley Lodge is Sun City's first senior living community and health care center. Since it opened in 1965, more than 8,000 people have made their homes at the Lodge. Children of former residents live at the Lodge now. Volunteers also "retire" and move into the Lodge. It maintains an impeccable reputation and is awarded "Excellent" rating by the Arizona Dept. of Health.

I have volunteered at SVL every Saturday (that my schedule permits) since Aug 2011 and will end my time there Aug 2019. It has been a wonderful 8 years. I have learned so much and will miss the residents. My responsibility was to sort and deliver the mail, visit with residents and deliver any package or flower bouquet that came in during the time I was in. I would recommend volunteering at SVL to anyone and I would love to help train the next Saturday mail volunteer.
