CAC's mission is to empower children to overcome trauma from physical and sexual violence through empathetic collaboration and culturally sensitive services for the victims and their families. ​CAC's vision is to create a community where every child can thrive in safety and well-being. Description

Children's Advocacy Center of North and Northwest Cook County (CAC) was established in 1989 to help meet the needs of children in our community who have been victims of or witnesses to violence. We are fully accredited by the National Children's Alliance, and there are 900+ CACs in the United States, as well as 34 countries around the world. Our primary service area includes 38 north and northwest suburbs of Chicago.

A 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization, CAC is a fully accredited member of the National Children’s Alliance. CAC provides all services free of charge in both English and Spanish.
