Mission Statement

Community Connections for Youth (CCFY) is a Bronx-based non-profit minority organization whose mission is to empower grassroots faith and neighborhood organizations to develop effective community-based alternative-to-incarceration (ATI) programs for youth

Responding to the crisis created by the overreliance on youth incarceration, CCFY seeks to develop the power and capacity of directly affected communities members to develop effective alternatives for addressing problems of youth crime and delinquency through a threefold approach that includes:

1) Education, Advocacy & Community Organizing: educating community members about New York's juvenile justice system, and organizing youth, parents, and local faith and community leaders to become effective advocates for juvenile justice reform.

2) Training & Technical Assistance: developing the capacity of indigenous community organizations to work effectively with justice-system involved youth so that they can create their community-driven alternatives to incarceration.

3) Direct Services - mobilizing community members in the Mott Haven neighborhood of the South Bronx to work directly with system-involved youth by training them to serve as mentors and advocates for young people at risk of incarceration.

My wish is to at least reach one person on addiction, behavior, jail, dysfunction within ourselves and family, acceptance, secrets kill, letting go and being to trust enough to talk without judgement.
