The mission of the Hospital Disaster Support Communications is to backup communications critical to patient care.

Description

The Hospital Disaster Support Communications System (HDSCS) is a group of Amateur Radio ("ham") operators who have volunteered to provide critical backup internal and external communications for medical facilities in Orange County, California whenever normal communications are interrupted for any reason. Volunteers must be licensed Amateur Radio Operators with an interest in providing backup communications in the event of phone failures/overload affecting local medical faciliaties. Members are provided ongoing education and training
