Mission Statement

Our mission at End Poverty Foundation is to eradicate poverty by applying capital and free enterprise tools to empower entrepreneurs in developing countries. We focus on innovation and leveraged solutions by identifying and addressing unmet opportunities within the poverty reduction field, promoting and accelerating global efforts that allow impoverished people to lift themselves out of poverty, and advancing sustainable entrepreneurship worldwide.

Description

End Poverty is a small, vibrant, ambitious foundation dedicated to international poverty eradication. Our current project focus is in the related fields of microfinance, business development services, and appropriate technology. Our goals (broadly defined) are below. Foundation Goals: 1) We promote and support effective, existing entrepreneur-based poverty reduction programs. Through these efforts, we most importantly help the poor but also enable End Poverty to learn about how the best and most scalable programs work in order to promote their expansion. 2) We initiate and foster innovation within the poverty reduction field. As a private foundation, we have the ability to fund experimentation of new ideas without any bureaucracy. We use our business development skills and capital to create strategic relationships that develop innovative ways to impact poor communities and accelerate and scale these poverty reduction techniques. 3) We make venture capital investments in companies that develop technologies aimed at improving the basic infrastructure of impoverished economic communities that we believe can become profitable. Economic development requires access to capital as well as improved infrastructure support for a community. Through investment and board participation, we help accelerate the efforts of new companies that are focusing their efforts on technologies that can work in impoverished and emerging economic environments. 4) We promote the awareness of entrepreneurial techniques to reduce poverty. We believe influential individuals and the private sector are necessary partners for our efforts. These partners are needed for capital, leadership and their willingness to conduct business within underdeveloped economic communities. Our proximity and access to a highly influential and entrepreneurial community gives us a unique opportunity to get this audience involved in efforts to reduce poverty.
