Description

In the U.S., individuals provide six times the amount of charitable dollars as do all foundations and corporations combined -- with individuals giving $250 billion in 2009 alone.

Not all charities are equal: while many do strong work with the moneys entrusted to them, others lack focus and management and produce little impact.

At SGO an individual can screen more than 300,000 U.S.-based charities. The idea: dig before your donate.

The IRS issued its 501(c)(3) determination to SeriousGivers on February 16, 2011.
