Mission Statement

The mission of Inclusion Teaming(tm) is to teach students with typical and atypical social skills how to successfully communicate with each other. In specially designed teams, students will gain knowledge and confidence, becoming effective self-advocates and talented facilitators for workplace teams. Difficulties in social communications occur between students with typical social skills and atypical social skills who have conditions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, High Functioning Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, Non Verbal Learning Disability, and an array of other learning disabilities. Using guided instruction, students learn communication skills that improve their chance of success, decrease tolerance for bullying, and facilitate progress on workplace teams. InclusionTeaming.org

Description

Inclusion Teaming(tm) is an after school program that teaches students with typical and atypical social skills how to successfully communicate with each other. There is a wide range of social skills among students. Inclusion Teaming(tm) characterizes this as Social Skill Diversity(tm), which is the difference in the way individuals perceive and use information and the effect this has on patterns of social expression and social skills. In this range, students with atypical social skills are often very bright and can offer valuable insights and talents to teams. To promote competence in working with diversity in social skills, Inclusion Teaming(tm) combines students with typical and atypical social skills in specially designed committee teams. Students learn about the specific pattern of atypical social skill within their team. There are separate teams for ADHD and Asperger's Syndrome because the pattern of atypical social skill is different in each of these conditions. Students with atypical skills become effective self-advocates and students with typical skills become informed talented facilitators. InclusionTeaming.org
