Mission Statement

This year's Norway Day Festival has been expanded to include a week of "Norwegian activities." The Norwegian Society in the San Francisco Bay Area will be showcasing Norwegian culture and technology throughout the week, and ending with "Norway Day Festival" on May 4 & 5.

Description

The goal of Norway Week 2002 is fourfold: To show the rich traditions of Norwegian history and culture and its influence on the American society To showcase present day cultural offerings from Norway. We are planning a concert, art exhibits, and other functions To show the role Norway plays on the geopolitical scene, as a peace broker. We will be arranging a conference on conflict resolution at U.C. Berkeley To showcase Norwegian industry and technology, and to show how we add value as a trade and technology partner for the U.S. A biotechnology trade conference is scheduled to provide the opportunity for Norwegian companies to meet with their counterparts in the US.
