Mission Statement

The mission of the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless is to eradicate homelessness through prevention, public policy, education and direct services.

Description

Founded in 1981, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless was the first state-wide advocacy organization for homeless people in the nation.

The Coalition maintains the mission of ending homelessness in Massachusetts; however, since it's inception in 1981 the Coalition has continued to expand and look for innovative ways to fight homelessness. Currently, the Coalition works through prevention, education, and direct service to ensure that families, children, people with disabilities, seniors, and individuals obtain and maintain permanent housing.
