Wildfires are devastating communities across California, causing more than 300,000 people to evacuate their homes and threatening many more. The Camp Fire in Northern California -- one of three blazing across the state -- is the most destructive in state history. We want to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you find access to shelter. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know the most effective ways to contribute.

Life Saver Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused, and neglected animals. Acting as a conduit for the community, our goal is to provide compassion and love to our rescued animals; support spay/neuter programs to reduce animal overpopulation; and provide training and education on animal behavior to assist our community on how to become better pet guardians.
Life Saver Rescue is part of the Petco Foundation. Our animals come from city shelters. These animals have either been owner surrendered, found on the street, and in some cases abused. All of our animals are temper tested by our Dog Coordinator who is also a Certified Pet Dog Trainer. Life Saver Rescue takes the animals in for vetting, and grooming. The animals are then moved to a foster home, or boarding facility until a foster home is available.
While in our care, our animals receive basic obedience training and are socialized with other dogs and people. We feel this is important to the adoption process, as it helps the dogs prepare for our scheduled adoption events, and prepares them for their new and upcoming home life.
Life Saver Rescue believes in acting as a conduit for the community. We pride ourselves on being a source of information for all pet owners. We support spay/neuter programs, and council pet owners through animal behavioral issues. We strive to help pet owners understand their animal's needs and help to provide available options in an effort to keep owners and their pets united in a happy relationship.
