Rock and Wrap It Up!

Our main tool, 'contractual obligation'. We teach all groups writing contracts with catering facilities to include the following phrase in their contract or rider: "All edible leftover food to go to local soup kitchens or shelters and Rock and Wrap it Up! will arrange for the removal." When the opportunity arises, we work with existing local perishable food programs, ie USA Harvest, food collection and rescue services. We have over 4,000 volunteers covering 500 cities. Our success is in the simplicity of the concept and implementation. Since our beginning in 1994, over 4,00,000 pounds have been picked up, feeding over 12,000,000 people. All donors are protected from liability by The Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Act of 1996. Our website can be read in French, Italian, German and Spanish. Since September 11, 2001, we are also supplying food and resources to WTC recovery projects.
