Description

Think of all the times you spent an hour on something ordinary. The hour stuck in rush hour, getting groceries, surfing the net. We all have a long list of "One Hours" that did not matter.

Now imagine if you and a few friends decide to take One Hour to help someone in need. Just one hour, nothing more. What would it be like, if our community decides to make a difference in a neighborhood? Picture hundreds of neighbors reaching out to neighbors, cleaning up a neighborhood for one hour. This Hour now matters!

The Fort Lauderdale Rotary Club in cooperation with the City, churches and local civic organizations created the "Power of One Hour" project to clean up parts of the South Middle River neighborhood on February 26, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. to raise awareness for the need of community service and the impact "One Hour" can make.

Our teams will cut lawns, trim trees, landscape, paint, and perform other minor repairs to clean neglected homes, beautify the neighborhood and create a sense of pride of community and homeownership.

The Fort Lauderdale Rotary Club accepts small donations equivalent to what we normally spent in an "ordinary hour". The contributions will fund future community service projects.
