Mission Statement

The American Parkinson Disease Association is the country's largest grass roots organization serving the Parkinson's community, and does so through a comprehensive program of education, patient care and support, and funding research. APDA was founded in 1961 to "ease the burden, and find the cure" for those living with Parkinson's disease. Founded in 1984 by a dedicated group of volunteers, APDA Northwest supports the needs of over 55,000 Parkinson's patients in the Northwest.

Description

Our core programs serve the Parkinson's community through education, support, and research. We provide education for patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers, as well as access to information and resources. We support our community through assistance programs like APDA Ride Ride Repay and the Caregiver's Day Off program. We strengthen the support group network and fund local activity classes. Lastly, we fund local research into the cause and cure for Parkinson's.
