Mission Statement

America's Blood Centers is a network of not-for-profit community blood centers that helps its members provide excellence in transfusion medicine and related health services. America's Blood Centers accomplishes its mission by providing leadership in donor advocacy, education, national policy, quality, safety, in finding efficiencies for the benefit of donors, patients and healthcare facilities, and by encouraging collaboration among blood organizations. ABC also acts as a forum for its members to share information and best practices. And, America's Blood Centers works with members across the country to encourage blood donation.

Description

America's Blood Centers is an international network of community-based blood centers that collects nearly half of the U.S. blood supply and about 25% of the Canadian blood supply. The largest provider of blood components and services, America's Blood Centers' members are located in 45 states, serving more than 125 million people at 450 blood donation sites. For 40 years, America's Blood Centers' members have been committed to serving the needs of their local communities by saving lives through volunteer blood donation. Our members were also the first to respond to national tragedies like the Oklahoma City bombing, Columbine shootings and September 11th attacks.
