The most livable community with the most efficient and effective public service in Pennsylvania.
The employees of Cumberland County government provide a wide variety of services to County residents. Under Pennsylvania County Code, the Board of County Commissioners, comprised of three elected commissioners, is responsible for the overall management of the county. The Commissioners are assisted by a Chief Operations Officer, County Administrator and two Solicitors. In addition, the Commissioners work with other elected or appointed officials, or "Row officers" who are responsible for managing various County government departments. County voters also elect judges and jury commissioners who assist with jurn oversight and selection.
