Mission Statement

The Volunteerism Project, a San Francisco based non-profit organization, seeks to strengthen, increase and diversify community service throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. The Volunteerism Project has embarked on a research project, titled Telling the Whole Story, to describe the involvement of diverse cultural and ethnic groups in civic participation in the United States. This follows a 1999 telephone survey of 767 households conducted by The Volunteerism Project that provided a snapshot of volunteer activities throughout the Bay Area.

Description

Telling The Whole Story is an opportunity for people from ethnic groups to share their stories and describe the ways in which they contribute their time and talent to help others. The research conducted in this project will be part of the first publication to focus exclusively on civic participation in a variety of ethnic and cultural communities.
