The General Store is the starting point for most visitors to Whitesbog Historic Village. Maps and brochures, jams, honey, hand-crafted items and books on Pine Barrens history and folklore are some of the items sold in a down-home, country store atmosphere reminiscent of the 1920s. The store is open on weekends, 10 AM- 3PM, year-round. More days and times can be added if volunteers are available on a regular basis. Store sales go towards supporting the nonprofit Whitesbog Preservation Trust's (WPT) efforts to preserve and restore Whitesbog Historic Village, birthplace of the cultivated blueberry and a key piece of New Jersey's agricultural heritage. Funds raised support programs for the public, museum exhibits, field trips, tours and family events including Living History Days, Spooky Tours, Wagon Rides, Tractor shows, Maker's Day and more.
