Mission Statement

The mission of the Museums of Old York is to preserve and promote the history of the York region through experiences and programs that engage people's historical perspective, enhance community pride, and provide inspiration for the future.

Description

The Museums of Old York is a multifaceted organization. It consists of 8 historic museum buildings with exhibits and guided tours focused on the history of the York region. An archival library dedicated to local research including, but not at all limited, to genealogy. Exciting educational programs for children, adults and families including school field trips, after school programs, lecture series, historic dinners, hikes for history and much more. As well as annual special events including exhibit openings, a town wide Marketfest, a decorators show house and an antique show.
