Description

Central Counties Center for MHMR Services (CCCMHMRS) came into existence in 1974 and has emerged as a major health care provider in Central Texas, with sites in Bell, Coryell, Hamilton, Lampasas and Milam Counties. CCCMHMRS is designated as the local Mental Health Authority and Mental Retardation Authority for the five county region. This designation comes from the Texas State Mental Health and Mental Retardation Board. CCCMHMRS is a comprehensive community mental health and mental retardation center established with 20 service locations to serve the priority population. The center is a non-profit governmental agency that was granted exemption from federal tax under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code in February of 1982. A nine member Board of Trustees oversees CCCMHMRS. Each board member is an unpaid volunteer who is appointed for 2-year terms by the Commissioners' Courts in their county of origin. The Board operates under the Texas Open Records and Texas Open Meeting Acts.
