Hope Haven Childrens Shelter

Mission Statement

Hope Haven Shelter opened in June of 1996 and has provided numerous children with a safe refuge from abuse and neglect. As a State Licensed Emergency Shelter, Hope Haven fills a critical role in the vital care of children who have been removed from their homes by the Department of Human Services. Hope Haven Shelter is far from the typical shelter which is funded and run by a local county government. Hope Haven is a non-profit entity with the sole goal of providing quality, child driven care to our most precious resource, our children. Hope Haven is proactive and our program, which has been reviewed and cited for its excellence by State monitoring officials, places the individual child's needs and welfare first, not the system's. Hope Haven Shelter shines in the individual attention we are able to give each child. With a staffing ratio of 1 to 6, we always have a minimum of two paid childcare staff present 24 hours per day. Through our expanded volunteer program, we are able to provide appropriate community affairs and events. Hope Haven Shelter is a true community based effort with the majority of funding coming from the local community via memberships, donations, fund raising and sponsorships from local agencies and clubs.
