Mission Statement

Spell-City English Spelling School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to teach the spelling of 25,000 English words. Moreover, we prevent dyslexia in K-3 or end it among those who already have acquired it.

Unlike traditional teaching that takes years to teach bits and pieces of English, we teach spelling and reading in weeks, not in years.

Our program does not resemble any other traditional program that claims to teach literacy--we have good reasons to believe that traditional programs veer people away from learning and, unknowingly, participate in creating illiteracy. We created Spell-City English Spelling School to change that.

Description

Spell-City English Spelling School’s trained tutors are able to teach reading phonics to beginners and ESL if needed.

After being tutored, students from various backgrounds are placed in one classroom.

In addition to holding classes and workshops on our own site, we lend a hand to schools and other literacy organizations upon their requests.

We invite teachers, school administrators, and those in charge of school curriculums to accept a one-day workshop from us to share what we offer--together we can root out illiteracy.

Many of our students are now working as paid phonics & spelling tutors.
