Mission Statement

By providing health supportive services, HELP Adult Services helps individuals attain a greater level of independence and improve their quality of life.

Description

HELP Adult Services is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The organization focuses mainly on those in need with low or moderate income, and offers service to all persons with disabilities and/or a chronic illness regardless of race, religion, gender, or ethnic origin. There is no prequalification to use our services, everyone is eligible. This organization is an advocate, ready and waiting for those who suddenly find they need assistance. Our Health and medical Equipment Loan Program allows clients to loan or purchase donated medical equipment at a discounted cost that they otherwise would not be able to afford. Support is also provided to family members who find they need respite and assistance through our Respite program that provides Respit Companions.There are no similar programs anywhere within the metro, and it is also relied upon by those who live across or out of state.

Great opportunity for volunteers! The staff members here are very easy to work with. HELP Adult Services gives the volunteer the power to reach out to families who have family members with specific needs and give them a helping hand. The volunteer is matched with a family based on personality aspects and the specific needs of the family. When a match is confirmed between volunteer and family, home visits are scheduled. From this volunteer’s experience in providing home visits, it gives me happy and gratifying feelings knowing that by simply spending a few hours a day with someone, how much you not only learn about yourself but the ones you are helping. If you are looking for a volunteer experience that lets you directly help the public then look no further.
