The Department of Children & Families is committed to working in partnership with local communities to ensure safety, well-being, and self-sufficiency for the people we serve.

Description

Our agency serves the needs of the poorest and most vulnerable citizens of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion, and Sumter counties. We provide temporary aid to families with finacial assistance, food stamps and medicaid; we serve developmentally challenged children and their families; we serve and advocate for the elderly and disabled adults, helping them stay in their homes or placing them in appropriate assisted living facilities or nursing homes; and provide safe environments for children and adults impacted by abuse or neglect.
